January 31, 2012: Fun sports events in Ischgl

February 24: Synchro Ski World Cup in Kappl
“The fine art of skiing” is the motto of skiing in pairs: two skiers each have to swing down the slopes parallelly, if possible always on the same level and in the same rhythm, and will be rated by judges on synchrony, technique and speed. Everybody can participate (Register here). With the total prize money of 15,000 euros you could then go straight onto planning your next skiing holiday in Ischgl.
March 9 – 11: Freeheeler Spring Break in Galtür
The Freeheeler Spring Break is a special weekend for telemark skiers, both professionals and beginners. Workshops, product testing, parties and, above all, exciting races will be on the programme. This fun sport discipline is all about acrobatic jumps on skis and gracefully managing a course of tight turns, kickers and waves. Fascinating for participants and spectators alike, and certainly a highlight of your skiing holiday in Ischgl!
March 18: Zibob® Cross European Championship in Kappl
This sledging event is particularly interesting for families holidaying in Ischgl. New this winter season, Kappl has the world’s first permanent Zibob® track. Zibobs®, special mini plastic sledges with a unique grab-handle, can be borrowed for free at the sledging track. In the competition on 18 March children and families will be rated separately; the winners will receive winners’ cups and non-cash prizes.

This year again, visitors to the Ski Opening in Ischgl will get to see musical superstars at the Top of the Mountain Opening Concert: With more than 70 million albums sold, the pop music duo *Roxette *is among the most successful in the world of all times.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the formation of the band they have released a new album and go on a world tour, which will also stop in Ischgl, during ski opening weekend on Saturday November 26, 2011 from 6pm.
Tickets: Admission is only possible in combination with a ski pass. Season tickets and all ski passes for at least 2 days entitle holders to attend the concert. On the day of the concert, the price for a day’s ski pass incl. concert will be € 55 per person for everyone (no reductions for children or senior citizens).
